Wimeraux to Abbeville

After a slightly chilly night in the van, I was relieved to see sunshine this morning. The rest of the group staying in a hotel had decided to leave at 8am, but a leisurely breakfast and starting when the sun was warm seemed much more appealing to me.
Just up the road from the campsite was this beautiful war cemetery, a reminder of why I have voted in the referendum.

The route then rather rudely turned very hilly including an unexpected 'Mont' that necessitated a pre-vomit hang over the handlebars moment.

The expected happy zone cycling then returned with beautiful, undulating middle of nowhereness.

Of course I had to stop off at a Boulangerie: garmin + cake = bike essentials

At the end of the ride, I pedalled through/got lost in beautiful Abbeville

This evening's campsite is in the middle of lakes and marshes so mozzies' heaven. This couple discovered how soggy the ground is and had to be pulled out by a tractor!

After 69.1 very happy miles today with
2799 feet of climbing in lovely sunshine, sadly tomorrow the forecast looks revoltingly soggy 😟
